Kolkata, Feb 4: Taranjit Singh, Managing Director of JIS Group, has been conferred with this year’s Mother Teresa International Award for his “noteworthy achievement and contribution” in the field of education. “I would like to carry forward the dream of building educational institutions where innovation, invention and entrepreneurship remain the cardinal focus and thrust thereby creating best graduates, who can think, innovate and invent for the betterment of the society and mankind in the coming future,” Singh said after receiving the award. (ALSO READ: Vatican wants sainthood for Mother Teresa in 2016 Holy Year of Mercy)
Amid the presence of Rt. Rev. Bishop Thomas D’Souza, Archbishop of Kolkata and the chief guest and presided over by Anthony Arun Biswas, chairman, Mother Teresa International Award Committee, Singh was awarded at a function held at Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC) January 30. Justice Altamas Kabir, former Chief Justice of Supreme Court and Justice Shyamal Sen, former Governor of West Bengal and Chief Patron of the Mother Teresa International Award Committee were also present at the function.
